Air Fare: Aer Lingus has been the carrier of choice for the last 8 years! It “usually” runs on time, and the fare is fair! At time of printing this document, round trip-nonstop for 1 adult was $729.00

Air fare increases as the departure date approaches. Most have booked the flight by March 1.

I would be more than happy to assist in your transportation arrangements. I encourage the group participants to book the direct flight to Dublin on Aer Lingus, as the group will be collected at the Dublin Airport at 9:00 AM:

23 June Flight EI 124 departs Chicago O’Hare (ORD) at 18:45 and arrives in Dublin (DUB) at 8:15

30 June Flight EI 125 departs Dublin (DUB) at 2:30 and arrives in O’Hare (ORD) at 16:30

If you are making a connecting flight out of Chicago for your return flight, please allow at least 3 hours for baggage claim, and transfer.

Accommodation, Breakfast, and Motor Coach for touring outside of Dublin: Accommodation and breakfast have been booked on your behalf, as well as the coach for tour transit from the airport in Dublin, for organized tour transit 23-27 June (with only ½ day on the 27th for transit back to Dublin’s City Centre). The cost for this travel package is based on per person sharing a double room. I have reserved several rooms with twin beds, and queen beds. Please, upon registration, inform me of your choice. There is a single supplement added for single rooms.

Transportation noted above and Double or Twin Room B&B cost for each person: $ 1193.20

Transportation noted above/Single Room B&B: $ 1443.40

DEPOSIT OF $ 800.00 (per person) is due immediately upon booking the trip. Contact Kerry Ninneman, Instructor for processing deposit information. 303-393-8688 MST, Denver, CO or email at kkninneman@stritch.edu

$ 250.00 of this deposit is non-refundable.

Final Payment is due April 1, 2008

Venues and Entrance Fees: I do not expect any teacher/professional to purchase any text books for this course of study. You will learn far more from the experiences provided through the eyes (yes, they’re smiling) of the Irish. You should plan to spend about 40 Euro on entrance fees for the sites we will visit as a group. Kerry Tours, Itreland

Each year, I offer a theatre option to the National Theatre of Ireland, The Abbey Theatre. More info on this will be sent via email upon course registration.

Over the last several years, I have heard back from my teachers. “Please allow us the opportunity for a free day to explore.”

Therefore, you will have an opportunity to explore enrichment venues which pertain to your teaching/professional assignment. I can provide more details on venue costs, transportation, and suggestions after you are registered for the course/tour. These options are personal, and your transportation and entrance fees will be individual decisions.

Kerry Tours, ItrelandMeals: Breakfast is included each morning. This is NOT your typical continental pastry and coffee…I have never heard anyone complain of not having enough to eat….and the food is very good.

Having taught and toured with groups for the last 8 years, I have found food to be the most difficult thing to organize. Lunch and Dinners are on your own, meaning you will pay for your meals beyond breakfast. Our stop at mid-day will provide you with many options for food selection at affordable rates. (This is Ireland…not England where a simple sandwich and a coke was over $10.)

I can offer many suggestions for dinner options in the cities where our hotels are located.

Just as there are varied choices, so are the prices. It is safe to say, a bowl of chowder or a salad can run from E 5-10; whereas a full meal, depending on location and restaurant can vary from E 10-45
Really, it’s all about what you’d like and how much you’d like to spend.

Course Materials: PLEASE bring with you:
All emails pertaining to the literature we’ll study, city maps that have been emailed, the study guide with questions for your journal entries, a notebook for your journal, and a happy disposition ready to understand the differences in our cultures.

Course Fees: Literary Ireland, TLRL 582 Cardinal Stritch University’s Tools for Learning is a 3 credit graduate course offered only in the summer. Registration for the course is completed on a first come/serve basis with students registering for credit taking priority over audit students. This is a fully accredited university with undergraduate and post graduate degrees offered.

ONCE you have made contact with me about the course, and have paid the down-payment for your room and coach transit, you may call or email Lorna Burns Hager, our administrator and complete the registration from. *YOU DO NOT NEED TO SEND ANY PAYMENT to her UNTIL MAY 1, Final Payment for the course is June 1.

Currently, I must have at least one person per room registered for either credit or audit. I welcome any additional friends or family to join you, as it makes it more enjoyable to travel with those whom you know. Please don’t feel that you shouldn’t travel as a single….you’ll have many new friends by the week’s end. Questions? Contact Kerry Ninneman, Instructor kkninneman@stritch.edu

Incidentals: Every year a new travel experience presents itself with the “aha” moment…I should have thought of that one! Be it safe to say, most people know what to bring.Kerry Tours, Itreland

In the line of packing: a rain jacket; umbrella, if your jacket doesn’t have a hood; 2 pairs of good walking shoes; one outfit for theatre…very casual, but not usually denim; several changes of shirts and 2 pairs of pants or capris; (you won’t see a lot of shorts in Ireland); and any medications/hearing aid batteries, personal health care items that you will need for the week. Please know, you’ll be traveling via motor coach…if you’re inclined to have motion sickness bring your Bromine along…it’s less drowsy formula seems to be better than the Dramamine which can really conk a person out!
Please pay attention to airport security information for up to date changes.

In the line of currency: 300-350 Euro
PLEASE have that money with you when you arrive!
YES, you most certainly can use ATM’s and not bring that entire amount!!!
ATM’s are in most large cities, but you won’t locate one on day 1, and we’re off as soon as you land!

Kerry Tours, ItrelandThis will be necessary for your entrance fees to each of the venues we visit as a group (mentioned above), and also for the ones you select for your Explore Day, for your meals, and any taxi/transit services you may require. From experience, the pubs don’t take credit cards; they like cash (EUROS). Many fine meals are served in pubs, so don’t hesitate to check out the carvery. Dublin is quite nice as a walking city; but if you’re tired at day’s end, a cab is a great sight…and they’re everywhere!

You will need to save Euro for your return transportation to the airport outside of Dublin. If you share a cab it will be about 20 Euro, and it will collect you at the Eliza Lodge…if you take the bus it is about 10 Euro and you’ll have to walk several blocks with your suitcases to catch it! I suggest sharing and riding in comfort.

That about covers it…email: kkninneman@stritch.edu for further information that may pertain to you, personally. Slainte, Kerry
